• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plant equipment.
• To be the subject matter expert on all equipment on both operational and maintenance requirements.
• Manage third party maintenance contractors to ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and satisfactory to industry standards, HSE requirements and regulations.
• Support maintenance and production lead in ensuring the plant is run efficiently and at capacity without adversely affecting product quality.
• Ensuring batches are processed efficiently, as per plan of pre-commercial planner & production scheduler.
• Responsible for capturing all received product volumes accurately and coordinating the efficient offloading thereof.

• Implementing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain and repair plant machinery and equipment with minimal downtime.
• Operate plants efficiently and ensuring proper cleaning is done through documented inspections.
• Ensuring correct batches are processed efficiently, with the correct application as per plan of pre-commercial planner & production scheduler.
• Ensuring optimised batch change over times without impacting kernel cleaning efficiency.
• Executing and documenting the requirements of the preventative maintenance system in conjunction with the Maintenance- and Production Lead.
• Be a coach and mentor by ensuring all operators are continuously coached in electrical safety procedures i.e.: LOTO, correct handling and usage of different voltage grade PPE, and any other related risk mitigation measures.
• Be accountable to LOTO on site.
• Be an example by always following correct procedures, safety codes and installation guidelines to ensure a high standard of plant safety is achieved.

• Maintain accurate and updated records of the maintenance activities, trends and costs related to maintenance operations.
• .Interop and maintain an accurate, real time spare part, tool and equipment inventory system, confirm at least by a monthly inventory count.
• Coordinate with external contractors, subcontractors and suppliers as needed, for the procurement and delivery of spare parts, tools and services.
• Responsible for the installation, maintaining and carrying out improvements and refurbishment of equipment in the factory.
• Responsible for the installation of new equipment and fixtures and the safe removal of old equipment.
• Leading any installation of electrical components and infrastructure, ensuring that sign offs, risk assessments and methods statements are in place.
• Have specialist knowledge of:
  • Electrical motors and pumps (single and three-phase) up to 55kW.
  • Transformers and generators (2MVA).
  • PLC’s and plant SCADA systems.
  • Processing line safety relays/PLC’s.
  • Electrical single line diagram drawings (read, update, create).
  • Complex faultfinding and electrical distribution and ancillaries.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment to gain access and perform diagnoses and repairs.
• Daily inspect, record and report information that may impede the operation of the plant.
• Responsible to ensure the necessary spare parts and tools required for maintenance activities are ordered in conjunction with production administration and accountability is taken for the Goods Receipt thereof.
• Ensure that all electrical and mechanical equipment are operating in strict accordance with government and company rules and regulations.
• Establish contingency plans to address unexpected equipment failures or emergencies.
• Practice safe working procedure in accordance with statutory regulations and OHS Act.

• Work closely with Maintenance & Production Lead to support the implementation of process improvement projects.
• Develop and manage maintenance related KPI`s and ensure governance thereof is well established.
• Actively participate and report on maintenance related KPI`s in daily direction setting meetings with production teams to be informed and provide feedback of ongoing maintenance.
• Actively participate in Regional and Global Optimization working groups and networks where best practices are shared across regional and global production networks.
• Provide technical knowledge for processes and equipment to obtain optimal performance of equipment.

• Participate in Tier meetings and monthly Health and Safety Meetings.
