Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Civil Engineer specializing in water and wastewater to design and deliver essential infrastructure in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead water supply networks, treatment facilities, and sewer systems with hands-on design and project management responsibility.

You will model hydraulic systems, coordinate with municipal authorities, and guide projects through construction while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience designing and managing water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of water treatment and sewerage systems.
• Experience liaising with municipalities and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Design potable water supply systems, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
• Engineer wastewater collection, treatment plants and effluent disposal.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling to optimize performance and capacity.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Perform site investigations, surveys and feasibility studies.
• Liaise with clients and authorities for approvals and project alignment.
• Oversee construction phases and provide technical support.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS, environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for integrated project outcomes.
