Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Civil Design Engineer to support municipal infrastructure projects in Vereeniging. You will work on water reticulation, sewer networks and stormwater systems with municipal authorities and construction teams.

You will prepare drawings, calculations and specifications for tender and construction, conduct site surveys, and ensure compliance with SA standards while contributing to project progress in a collaborative Gauteng team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registration as P.E. or Pr. Tech Eng with ECSA is desirable.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in municipal infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and design tools.
• Knowledge of South African municipal engineering standards and guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail municipal infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for tender and construction purposes.
• Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather necessary project information.
• Ensure designs comply with municipal standards, national regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design queries and ensure project progress.
• Assist in project management tasks, including progress monitoring and quality control.
