Placements24 seeks a Civil Engineer specializing in water and wastewater to design and deliver essential infrastructure in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead water supply networks, treatment facilities, and sewer systems with hands-on design and project management responsibility.

You will model hydraulic systems, coordinate with municipal authorities, and guide projects through construction while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience designing and managing water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of water treatment and sewerage systems.
• Experience liaising with municipalities and regulatory bodies.

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer specializing in water and wastewater systems to join their established team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. This role is pivotal in the design, planning, and implementation of essential water infrastructure projects, including potable water supply networks, treatment plants, and sewerage systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable water solutions for communities. This position requires a hands-on approach and collaboration within a professional office environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed plans for potable water supply systems, including pumping stations and distribution networks.

• Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and project management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Solid understanding of water treatment processes and sewerage systems.
• Experience with municipal liaison and understanding of regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple priorities.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or Techni Eng.) is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
