Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Civil Design Engineer in Tembisa to design water supply and wastewater systems for growing communities. You will develop designs for treatment plants, networks, and associated facilities, ensuring compliance with health and environmental standards.

The role requires a BSc in Civil Engineering, PE registration preferred, and at least five years of relevant experience, with proficiency in EPANET, WaterCAD, SewerCAD and AutoCAD; strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

• BSc in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water and sanitation design and implementation.
• Proficiency in EPANET, WaterCAD, SewerCAD and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for water treatment plants, distribution networks, wastewater collection systems and effluent facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and capacity.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents and construction drawings for water and sanitation projects.
• Oversee construction phase, provide technical support and ensure adherence to design specs and quality standards.
• Perform site assessments and feasibility studies for new water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists and regulatory bodies to ensure environmental compliance.
