Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a specialization in Water or Environmental Engineering to join our Bloemfontein team. You will design, develop, and manage essential water infrastructure projects, from potable supply networks to wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring reliable systems for the Free State community.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, ECSA registration, and at least six years of relevant experience, with strong hydraulic modeling,

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water or Environmental Engineering.
• ECSA registration is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the construction of water supply networks, pumping stations, and storage facilities.
• Develop and implement wastewater collection systems and treatment plant designs.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and sewer systems.
• Prepare engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant environmental regulations, health standards, and municipal by-laws.
• Manage project execution, liaise with contractors, and monitor construction quality to ensure adherence to project requirements.
