Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Telecommunications Systems Administrator in Soweto to manage PBX, VoIP, voicemail, and unified communications. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and support telecom systems to keep voice and data services running smoothly.
The ideal candidate has proven experience with PBX (Asterisk, Avaya, Cisco CallManager), VoIP, and networking basics, plus strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as Telecommunications Systems Administrator.
- Experience with VoIP and IP-based communications.
- Experience administering PBX systems (Asterisk, Avaya, Cisco CallManager).
- Strong understanding of networking principles relevant to voice/data.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain telecommunications systems, including PBX, VoIP, voicemail, and unified communications platforms.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system configurations.
- Install, upgrade, and configure new telecommunications hardware and software.
- Respond to user support requests and resolve technical issues related to communication systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
