Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Telecom Systems Administrator to manage and optimize telecommunications infrastructure remotely, with primary operations in Klerksdorp, North West. You will oversee PBX, VoIP, voicemail, and conferencing platforms to ensure reliable communications.

This role emphasizes deep technical expertise, autonomy, and strong problem-solving abilities. You will monitor performance, apply upgrades, and handle Tier 2/3 incidents, while enforcing security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications systems administration, with VoIP/IP telephony focus.
• Deep knowledge of PBX systems, SIP protocols, and telecom standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot PBX, VoIP, voicemail, and conferencing platforms.
• Monitor performance and resolve issues to ensure high availability and QoS.
• Apply system upgrades, patches, and config changes in controlled manner.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and call routing in the telecom environment.
• Develop and enforce policies for system usage and security.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for telecom incidents and requests.
