Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient VoIP Systems Administrator to manage and optimize the organization’s VoIP infrastructure in Polokwane. You will install, configure, and maintain PBX, SIP trunks, and related hardware to ensure reliable voice services for employees and customers.

The role requires strong knowledge of SIP/H.323, familiarity with Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk, and Avaya, plus networking basics and hands-on troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a VoIP administrator or managing telephony systems.
• Strong knowledge of SIP/H.323 and VoIP codecs.
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk, Avaya.
• Familiarity with networking principles for VoIP.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in Polokwane.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain VoIP systems including PBX and softswitches.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot voice quality and availability issues.
• Manage user accounts, extensions, and feature configurations.
• Implement voicemail, call routing, and unified communications features.
• Ensure the security and reliability of the VoIP network.
• Provide end-user training on VoIP features.
