Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Telecommunications Systems Administrator in Polokwane to manage PBX, VoIP, and related telecommunications systems. This hybrid role combines on-site maintenance with remote monitoring and support to ensure high availability for all users.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen in telecommunications, proactive problem-solving, and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in VoIP and PBX environments, ensuring seamless connectivity for the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and supporting telecommunications systems, preferably VoIP and PBX.
Strong knowledge of telephony protocols such as SIP, H.323, and TCP/IP.
Experience with major PBX vendors and communication platforms.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage tasks both remotely and on-site in the Polokwane area.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and maintain the company's PBX, VoIP, and other telecommunications systems.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
Manage user accounts, extensions, and voicemail settings.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure security and reliability.
Provide technical support to end-users for telecommunication-related issues.
Develop and document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
