Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl is seeking a Telecom Systems Administrator to manage PBX, VoIP and unified communications systems. You will configure, monitor performance, perform backups, and support high availability in a collaborative IT team.

The ideal candidate has a degree in IT or related field, 3+ years in telecom-focused admin roles, strong SIP/VoIP knowledge, and hands-on experience with PBX/UC platforms such as Cisco CallManager, Asterisk or Teams Voice.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or equivalent experience.
3+ years as a Systems Administrator focused on telecom systems.
Proficient with VoIP technologies, SIP and related protocols.
Experience with PBX or UC platforms (Cisco CallManager, Asterisk, Teams Voice).
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and security related to telecoms.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and maintain PBX systems, VoIP gateways, and UC platforms.
Monitor performance, identify issues, and implement high-availability solutions.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and telephony services.
