Placements24 is seeking a proactive Telecoms Network Operations Specialist based in Centurion to monitor, manage and optimize a large telecoms network. You will respond to incidents, perform diagnostics and coordinate rapid resolutions to maintain service availability.

The role requires 2–4 years in network operations, a Diploma or Bachelor’s in IT/Telecommunications, and hands-on experience with SolarWinds or Nagios and ticketing systems.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in network operations or a similar technical support role within the telecoms industry.
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using advanced management tools, identifying and escalating potential issues.
• Respond promptly to network alarms and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and coordinating resolution efforts.
• Implement network changes, configuration updates, and software patches according to established procedures.
• Generate regular performance reports, analyzing network traffic patterns and system utilization.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to ensure seamless service delivery and quick issue resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 network operational support.
