Our client, a rapidly growing telecommunications company, is looking for a dedicated Telecommunications Field Service Technician to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and in the field. You will be the front line in ensuring service quality and customer satisfaction, working with a variety of technologies including fiber optics, broadband internet, and fixed-line telephony. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, customer-focused, and possesses excellent troubleshooting skills. This is a hands-on role requiring physical work and the ability to travel within the assigned service area. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, set-top boxes, and related accessories.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to internet connectivity, voice services, and television reception.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment, ensuring optimal service performance.
• Educate customers on the use of their equipment and services, providing clear explanations and support.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during all field operations.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and inventory using company-provided tools.
• Collaborate with the support center and other technical teams to elevate and resolve complex issues.
• Manage assigned service tickets and optimize routes for efficient service delivery within the Benoni, Gauteng area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in telecommunications or electronics are highly desirable.
