Placements24 is seeking a Telecom Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair telecommunications equipment at customer sites around Paarl. You will be the face of the company, delivering high-quality service and practical technical support.

The role requires independent field work, strong technical aptitude, and a focus on customer satisfaction. You will troubleshoot, configure equipment, and educate customers on usage while maintaining accurate service records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; tech cert is a plus.
• Experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electronics.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field time.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment , including broadband modems, routers, and other customer premises devices.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on existing installations, resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests in a timely manner.
• Educate customers on service usage and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, equipment inventory, and completed work orders.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines while performing duties at customer locations.

Requirements
