About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and technically proficient Telecom Field Service Technician to join their team in Pretoria. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites and company facilities. Your expertise will ensure the reliable functioning of our client's network infrastructure, providing essential services to a diverse customer base. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service in a field-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, antennas, and cabling.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and repair faults in telecommunications systems, escalating complex issues as necessary.
• Respond promptly to service calls and provide on-site technical support to customers.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while on client premises.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or electronics is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role within the telecoms industry.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and test meters.
• Strong understanding of network cabling standards and telecommunications protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for travel to various sites in and around Pretoria.
