Job summary

Placements24 is helping a leading environmental and engineering consultancy recruit a Senior Water Resources Engineer for a fully remote role across South Africa. You will plan, design and manage water resource projects including water supply, wastewater systems, flood control and hydrological modeling.

You will lead projects, perform hydrological/hydraulic analyses, develop networks, prepare reports and EIAs, manage budgets and timelines, and mentor juniors while working with dispersed teams

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering or Civil Engineering (with water specialization).
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA.
• 9+ years of progressive water resources experience with emphasis on PM and design.
• Proficiency in hydrological/hydraulic modeling software: HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/EPANET/InfoWorks ICM.
• Strong communication and ability to work remotely with dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of water resource projects.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses including flood modeling.
• Develop water supply and distribution networks and wastewater systems.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and EIAs.
• Manage budgets, timelines and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with dispersed teams remotely.
• Ensure compliance with SA water regulations.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
