Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. The position focuses on designing and implementing sustainable water supply, wastewater, and stormwater solutions for national projects, with no relocation required to Soweto.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with water resources specialization, and preferably registration with ECSA. Expect collaboration with remote teams, adherence to standards, and mentorship of junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for water infrastructure projects.
• Design water supply networks, wastewater systems, and stormwater management solutions.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software.
• Perform feasibility studies and conceptual designs for water-related infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with national and local regulations, standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, clients, and other disciplines using digital communication platforms.
• Review and approve designs and documentation prepared by junior engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior remote engineers.
• Manage project tasks and timelines to ensure efficient delivery.
• Stay current with advancements in water resource engineering and technology.
