Placements24 seeks a Water Resources Civil Engineer to join a fully remote team, overseeing the planning, design, and management of water infrastructure projects from Port Elizabeth and beyond.

The role focuses on dams, pipelines, water treatment facilities, and stormwater systems, using advanced hydrological tools while collaborating with a global expert network to deliver sustainable solutions for communities in the Eastern Cape and elsewhere.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in water resources engineering design and project execution.
• Proficiency in water resources modeling software such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, or similar.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, hydrological processes, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent remote collaboration skills using digital platforms and communication tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project tasks effectively in a virtual setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for water infrastructure, including supply, distribution, and treatment systems.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses, including flood modeling and water balance studies.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for water projects.
• Ensure designs comply with water resource management regulations, environmental standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to oversee construction and provide technical support remotely.
• Assess water resource availability and demand, proposing sustainable solutions for water security.
