Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecom Network Operations Manager to lead a remote NOC, ensuring availability, performance, and security of a nationwide network infrastructure. You will manage a team of remote engineers, oversee incident response, monitoring, and proactive maintenance strategies.

This role offers the chance to shape the network's evolution, collaborate with engineering, and drive operational excellence from a home office environment with strong leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Telecommunications or related field; master's preferred.
• At least 8 years in telecom network operations with 3+ years in management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, routing, switching and firewalls.
• Experience with MPLS, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
• Experience with network monitoring tools: SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix.
• Strong ITIL knowledge for incident, problem, and change management.
• Excellent leadership and communication for remote teams; able to perform under pressure.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Certs CCNA/CCNP, ITIL Foundation beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a remote NOC team of engineers and technicians.
• Oversee day-to-day network operations for high availability and performance.
• Develop and implement incident management processes to minimize downtime.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for network health and efficiency.
• Manage network monitoring tools, alert systems, and dashboards.
• Create proactive maintenance schedules to prevent failures.
• Collaborate with engineering and deployment teams for smooth transitions.
• Develop and maintain runbooks and operational documentation.
• Ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.
• Manage vendor relationships for tools and support.
• Contribute to capacity planning and long-term network evolution.
