Placements24 is seeking a Lead Telecoms Network Operations Manager to oversee a remote NOC across South Africa. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, drive uptime, and implement monitoring and incident protocols to ensure reliable service delivery.

The role requires 8+ years in telecom operations, including 3+ years in leadership, with hands-on IP networks and wireless tech knowledge. A remote-capable, strategic leader will thrive in this fast-evolving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in telecommunications engineering, CS, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in telecom network operations, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Proven experience managing complex IP networks (routing, switching).
• Strong knowledge of wireless network operations (GSM, LTE, 5G).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
• Experience in incident management processes.
• Excellent leadership and remote communication skills.
• ITIL knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a remote team of network operations engineers and technicians.
• Oversee daily operations of the telecommunications network to ensure uptime and performance.
• Develop and implement robust network monitoring strategies.
• Establish and manage incident response procedures for rapid resolution.
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning for growth.
• Implement and enforce operational policies and best practices.
• Manage vendor relationships for monitoring tools and support.
• Drive continuous improvement in NOC efficiency and service quality.
• Present regular operational reports to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards.
