Placements24 is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to remotely install, configure, and maintain advanced smart home systems for residential clients. You will diagnose and resolve complex issues, guide customers through remote installations, and support ongoing system performance from a home office.

The role emphasizes autonomy, strong networking knowledge, and effective remote communication to ensure high customer satisfaction and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Service Technician or similar technical role with smart home exposure.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Z-Wave) and smart home platforms.
• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues remotely.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of complex smart home systems, including lighting, security, HVAC, and entertainment.
• Guide customers through installation and configuration via remote channels (video, phone, instructions).
• Provide expert technical support for escalated issues with timely resolution.
• Maintain documentation for installations, repairs, and configurations.
• Collaborate with engineering to identify product issues and suggest improvements.
• Stay updated with new technologies and product updates in smart home industry.
• Manage service schedules and client appointments remotely.
• Conduct remote training sessions for clients on operation and troubleshooting.
• Follow company protocols and quality standards for remote service.
