Job summary
HID is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Embedded/Firmware) in Durban, South Africa to ensure the quality and reliability of software, firmware, and integrated systems. You will lead QA activities, define testing strategies, and drive automation across multiple projects within an Agile environment.
The role demands 7+ years in software quality, strong testing knowledge, and collaboration skills to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 7+ years' experience as a Software Quality Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with functional testing, automation, and regression testing; knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
- ISTQB CTFL certification or similar is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Agile team to understand requirements, stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Define test plans, cases, and strategies for software, firmware, hardware, and integrated solutions.
- Lead QA activities across multiple projects and mentor QA engineers and developers.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and regression tests.
- Execute manual and automated testing to verify product functionality and reliability.
- Work with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
- Promote QA best practices and quality culture across teams.
- Define processes and oversee workload of QA engineers.
