Job summary

HID Global in Durban, South Africa, seeks a QA Engineer (Embedded/Firmware) to ensure quality across software, firmware and integrated systems. You will design test plans, execute manual and automated tests, identify defects, and work with developers to meet product requirements.

You’ll operate in an Agile environment, contribute to test automation, reproduce issues, and improve QA processes. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in software quality, experience with Windows and Web apps, and

Qualifications

2+ years' experience as a Software Quality Engineer.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Hands-on experience with Jira and TestRail.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Hands-on experience with Windows and Web applications.
Understanding of SDLC, STLC and testing lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans and test cases based on project specs and acceptance criteria.
Perform manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure software quality.
Document, prioritize, and report bugs using issue-tracking tools.
Collaborate with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
Contribute to test automation initiatives and maintain automated test scripts.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and help drive QA process improvements.
