Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Durban, South Africa, seeks a Senior QA Engineer (Embedded/Firmware) to lead QA across software, firmware and systems. You will define testing strategies, drive automation, and ensure products meet customer requirements before release.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, mentor QA engineers, and oversee testing processes to deliver high‑quality access control solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience as a Software Quality Engineer.
• Strong testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Hands-on with JIRA and TestRail; Agile mindset.
• Experience with functional, automation and regression testing.
• Knowledge of SDLC/STLC and testing life cycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA activities across multiple projects and provide guidance to teams.
• Define test plans, cases, and strategies for software, firmware, hardware, and systems.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and regression tests.
• Execute manual and automated testing to identify defects and verify functionality.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
• Mentor QA engineers and promote best practices in testing and automation.
• Define processes and oversee work of other QA/test engineers.
