Job summary

HID Global in Durban, South Africa, is seeking a Staff QA Engineer to ensure software, firmware, and integrated system quality across our security solutions. You will lead testing strategies, automate regression tests, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

The role requires 7+ years in software QA, strong testing knowledge, and experience with JIRA/TestRail, plus automation and SDLC/STLC proficiency.

Qualifications

7+ years' experience as a Software QA Engineer.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Hands-on experience with JIRA and TestRail.
Experience with automation and regression testing.
Knowledge of SDLC/STLC and test methodologies.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile team members to understand project requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Define comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for software, firmware, hardware, and integrated system solutions.
Lead quality assurance activities across multiple projects and provide technical guidance to QA engineers and development teams.
Drive the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and automated regression testing.
Execute manual and automated testing to identify defects and verify product functionality, performance, and reliability.
Work closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects.
Mentor QA engineers and promote best practices in testing, automation, and quality assurance.
Define processes for and oversee the work done by the other QA/test engineers.
