Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Claims Adjuster in Kimberley, Northern Cape, to manage complex property insurance claims for residential and commercial properties. The role requires on-site work and mentorship for junior adjusters, with a focus on timely, fair settlements.

You will investigate, assess damages, negotiate settlements, and ensure compliance with South African insurance regulations while delivering excellent service to policyholders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a claims adjuster, with a strong specialization in property insurance.
• Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in insurance or claims management are highly preferred.
• Deep understanding of property construction, building codes, and repair processes.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle complex property insurance claims (residential and commercial).
• Conduct site inspections to assess damages, determine cause, and estimate repair costs.
• Interpret policy wordings and coverage limitations accurately.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, contractors, assessors, and legal representatives.
• Negotiate fair settlements within policy limits and company guidelines.
• Manage a caseload of claims efficiently, ensuring timely resolution.
• Identify potential subrogation or salvage opportunities.
• Document all claim activities, decisions, and communications thoroughly in the claims system.
