Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in insurance claims adjusting, with focus on complex claims.
• Proven track record in investigating, negotiating, and settling complex claims.
• In-depth knowledge of property, casualty, motor policies.
• Strong understanding of South African insurance laws and regulations.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Resident of Gauteng or willing to relocate to Gauteng, South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate complex insurance claims.
• Assess damages, losses, and liabilities across types of claims.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, legal representatives and stakeholders.
• Determine claim validity, coverage, and settlement amounts.
• Maintain accurate claim files and complete documentation.
• Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance on insurance policy interpretation and claims procedures.
• Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalate for investigation.
• Mentor junior claims adjusters as needed.
• Stay updated on legislation and regulatory changes impacting claims in Gauteng.
