Placements24 is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster in Johannesburg to manage complex property and casualty claims from investigation through settlement. You will assess coverage, negotiate settlements, and mentor junior team members while upholding exceptional customer service standards.

The role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and communication skills, proficient in claims software, and willing to travel within Gauteng as needed.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Insurance, Law or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of claims adjusting experience in property and casualty.
• Proven ability to manage complex claims and negotiate settlements.
• Strong knowledge of insurance contracts, legal principles and investigation techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in claims management software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver''s license and willingness to travel within Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate complex property and casualty insurance claims.
• Determine coverage, liability, and damages based on policy terms and conditions.
• Conduct thorough inspections of damaged property and gather necessary documentation.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, witnesses, legal counsel, and other involved parties.
• Prepare detailed reports, settlement offers, and claim files.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company policies.
• Manage a caseload of claims efficiently, prioritizing urgent matters.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior adjusters.
• Participate in claims review meetings and contribute to process improvements.
