Job summary
Placements24 is assisting a client in Polokwane, South Africa, to recruit a Senior Process Engineer for Oil & Gas operations. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting hydrocarbon processing and treatment systems, ensuring safety, efficiency and environmental compliance.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in process design, with 7+ years in the industry, proficiency in HYSYS/PRO/II, and the ability to work in a hybrid layout with collaboration across project teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
- Strong thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer knowledge.
- Experience with process safety management and environmental regulations.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; comfortable in hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize PFDs and P&IDs.
- Run process simulations to compare design options.
- Perform PHAs/HAZOP studies to identify risks.
- Provide technical support for plant operations.
- Implement process improvements to reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Collaborate with project teams during design, construction, commissioning.
