The ideal candidate has a strong background in process design, with 7+ years in the industry, proficiency in HYSYS/PRO/II, and the ability to work in a hybrid layout with collaboration across project teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Strong thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer knowledge.
• Experience with process safety management and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; comfortable in hybrid work model.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Senior Process Engineer to join their team, contributing to their Oil & Gas operations in the Polokwane region. This role is integral to designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting the complex processes involved in hydrocarbon extraction and treatment. You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of plant operations. The ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience in process design and operational support, with a capacity to work effectively in a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate design alternatives and improve operational efficiency.
• Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs), such as HAZOP studies, to identify and mitigate risks.
• Provide technical support for plant operations, troubleshooting process upsets and equipment issues.
• Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs, enhance safety, and minimize environmental impact.
• Collaborate with project teams during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of new facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles.
