Placements24 in South Africa's North West near Klerksdorp is seeking a seasoned Senior Process Engineer to optimize chemical production, ensure safety, and drive environmental compliance. The role involves process design, troubleshooting, and leading projects to improve plant performance.

You will work hands-on with a mix of on-site and occasional remote collaboration, collaborating with operations, maintenance, and QA to support continuous improvement initiatives and documentation, including

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with process simulation software and project management methodologies.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental standards pertinent to chemical production.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement recommendations to enhance plant safety.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Lead and manage engineering projects from conception through to commissioning and handover.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and material balances.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality control teams to ensure seamless plant operation.
