You will develop detailed schematics, perform calculations, and ensure code/standards compliance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with project managers across time zones.

Based in South Africa (Midrand, Gauteng) with a remote-first setup, you will own design integrity, participate in design reviews, and stay current with software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5–7 years of professional experience in electrical design with a focus on power systems.
• Experience in renewable energy sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical power systems.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and load studies.
• Develop electrical schematics and component selections.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOMs, and design documentation.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation and commissioning.
• Stay updated on advances in electrical engineering and renewables.
