Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a remote-first team focused on cutting-edge power systems for renewable energy projects. The role is based in Midrand, Gauteng, yet fully remote, offering flexible collaboration across multiple time zones.

You will design detailed schematics, perform load calculations, and lead power system analyses while coordinating with mechanical engineers, suppliers, and project managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience in electrical design, especially power systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP, or PSS/E.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics and designs for power systems.
• Perform load calculations, single-line diagrams, and component selection.
• Conduct short circuit studies, arc flash analysis, and power quality assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project execution.
• Prepare BOM, technical specs, and design documentation.
• Provide support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
• Stay updated with industry best practices in electrical engineering.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure design integrity.
