Placements24 is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to support a mining fleet in Kimberley. You will diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform preventative maintenance and lead by example in safety and quality workmanship.

The role requires a trade qualification and at least five years of hands-on experience with heavy earth-moving equipment in mining or construction. A valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience on heavy earth-moving equipment in mining or construction.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician specializing in heavy equipment to join their operational team in Kimberley . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of a diverse fleet of mining machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and leading by example in upholding the highest standards of safety and workmanship. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing operational efficiency for the mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of heavy mining equipment , including excavators, haul trucks, and loaders.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections to identify and address potential issues before they cause failure.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to guide repair procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior maintenance technicians.

Requirements

• Trade Qualification (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician) or equivalent experience.
