About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of mining equipment and plant machinery. This critical role ensures the optimal performance and longevity of essential assets, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, manage work schedules, and ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to strict safety and quality standards. This position requires strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and a commitment to proactive maintenance strategies. Your oversight will be instrumental in keeping our mining fleet and processing plants operational and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of maintenance technicians and artisans.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for mining equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with company standards.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in heavy machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for the maintenance department.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development for the maintenance team.

Requirements

• Trade Qualification (e.g., Fitter & Turner, Electrician) or a relevant technical diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in mining.
• Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment and fixed plant machinery.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
