Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Process Optimization Engineer to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction across manufacturing operations in Johannesburg. The role partners with production, quality and supply chain to redesign processes for better efficiency and safety.

You’ll lead cross-functional projects, use Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen, and mentor teams while evaluating automation opportunities and delivering measurable gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; a Master's is advantageous.
• Extensive experience with Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong data analysis, problem solving and project leadership abilities.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead process analyses to identify inefficiencies, waste and bottlenecks.
• Design and implement improved processes, workflows and layouts.
• Analyze data, track KPIs and provide actionable insights.
• Manage cross functional projects and coordinate with production, quality and supply chain.
• Develop SOPs and training materials to standardize best practices.
• Evaluate new technologies and automation to enhance operations.
• Oversee timelines, budgets and resources for improvement initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
