Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead the development and optimization of automated manufacturing processes in Midrand, Gauteng. You will drive efficiency, quality, and safety across production lines, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5–7 years in process engineering within manufacturing, with strong knowledge of automation, lean/Six Sigma, and ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• 5-7 years in process engineering within manufacturing, automated/high-volume settings.
• Experience in process design, optimization and implementation.
• Strong automation, robotics, and control systems knowledge.
• Familiar with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of new manufacturing processes with a focus on automation and efficiency.
• Analyze existing production processes to identify improvements, boost throughput, reduce waste and costs.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, quality control, and maintenance for seamless integration and troubleshooting.
• Oversee commissioning and qualification of new equipment and lines.
• Implement SPC methods and monitor process performance metrics.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
• Ensure all processes comply with standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
