Placements24 is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to join our client’s team serving the Mahikeng region. You will install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment at customer sites, acting as the company’s on-the-ground representative and ensuring service quality for clients.

This hands-on, independent role requires excellent diagnostic skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in diverse field settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years as Field Service Technician or similar telecom role.
• Proficiency with broadband and voice equipment installation/repair.
• Strong network cabling, termination, and testing knowledge.
• Valid driver s license with clean record.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer-service skills.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and customer premise devices.
• Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshoot complex issues with network connectivity and service performance.
• Respond to service calls, efficiently resolving technical problems to minimize downtime for customers.
• Educate customers on product usage and basic troubleshooting steps.
• Manage service vehicle inventory and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures while on customer sites.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar telecommunications installation/repair role.
• Proficiency with installation and repair of broadband and voice services equipment.
• Strong understanding of network cabling, termination, and testing.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a dynamic field setting.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
