About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Field Network Technician to join their telecommunications infrastructure team in Mahikeng . This role is vital for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment and services at customer premises and within our network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity and high-quality service delivery for our clients. The ideal candidate is hands-on, possesses strong technical aptitude, and is committed to providing excellent service in the field, playing a crucial part in expanding and maintaining network services across the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test network equipment, including routers, modems, switches, and wireless access points, at customer locations.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs of network connectivity issues, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of network hardware.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and network configurations.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures while working on customer sites and within network facilities.
• Provide basic technical support and guidance to customers regarding their network services.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Network Technician or in a related field, such as telecommunications installation.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi technologies.
• Proficiency in using network diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a field environment.
