Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in electrical building services design.
• PE or Pr. Eng registration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of building services for new builds and refurbishments.
• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Conduct load calculations, energy efficiency analyses, and risk assessments.

About the Role

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Services Engineer to join their team in Klerksdorp, North West. This senior role will focus on the design and specification of electrical building services for a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. You will be responsible for leading the electrical design process, ensuring compliance with national building regulations and relevant electrical standards, and coordinating with other disciplines such as mechanical, structural, and fire safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge in power distribution, lighting, earthing, and standby power systems, coupled with excellent client liaison and project management skills. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of building services for new builds and refurbishments.
• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications using relevant software.

• Specify electrical equipment including switchboards, distribution boards, generators, UPS systems, and lighting fixtures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Demonstrated experience in designing power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, and earthing systems.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, DIALux).
• Thorough understanding of South African building regulations and electrical standards.
• Experience with generator and UPS system design.
• Strong project management and client-facing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr. Eng registration is an advantage.
