Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design for building services.

• Strong knowledge of building electrical codes and standards (SANS, SABS).
• Understanding of fire alarm and security system integration.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for commercial, retail, and industrial buildings.
• Develop electrical layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams, and details using CAD software.
• Specify electrical equipment and materials, including switchboards, generators, UPS systems, lighting fixtures, and wiring.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop, and short circuit analyses.
• Coordinate electrical design with architectural and mechanical disciplines.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and assist with tender documentation.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to verify installation quality and compliance.
• Respond to RFIs from contractors and provide technical support during project execution.
