Our client, a distinguished catering company operating in the picturesque region of Stellenbosch , is seeking a highly organized and efficient Senior Catering Logistics Coordinator . This critical role ensures the seamless flow of resources, equipment, and personnel to various event locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all logistical aspects of catering operations, from transportation and inventory to setup and breakdown. This hybrid position combines essential on-site coordination at venues with remote planning and administrative duties, offering a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and manage all logistics for catering events, including transportation, equipment, and staffing schedules. Coordinate with kitchen staff, event managers, and clients to ensure all logistical requirements are met. Oversee the loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies, ensuring safe handling and timely delivery. Manage inventory of catering equipment, supplies, and vehicles, conducting regular checks and coordinating maintenance. Develop and implement efficient routing and scheduling for delivery and setup teams. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to transportation and equipment handling. Troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges that may arise before or during events. Maintain accurate records of inventory, deliveries, and operational expenses. Conduct site visits to assess logistical needs and potential challenges for new venues. Collaborate with the operations manager to optimize logistics processes and reduce costs.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, operations, or a related field, preferably within the catering or hospitality industry. Proven ability to manage complex schedules and coordinate multiple moving parts. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Proficiency in using logistics software or scheduling tools. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules. Experience with inventory management and asset tracking. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. Familiarity with the Western Cape region and its venues is advantageous.
