Responsibilities

• Act as the operational bridge between the ecommerce platform and fulfilment execution across multiple product categories.
• Support the consolidation of separate fulfilment streams into a single, unified delivery model.
• Collaborate with ecommerce, warehouse management, logistics, and business operations to align processes and resolve gaps.
• Identify conflicts between platform logic, warehouse capability, and delivery execution and resolve them.
• Assist change management as teams transition to a centralized fulfilment model.
• Document current-state and future-state fulfilment processes across categories.
• Monitor fulfilment performance, flag issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Liaise with delivery and warehouse partners to ensure readiness during consolidation.

About the Role

A leading South African retailer is consolidating its ecommerce platforms into a single, unified customer experience - bringing together food, clothing, beauty, and home products into one cart, one checkout, and one delivery. Right now, these operate as separate systems with separate fulfilment logic. The goal is to make them invisible to the customer. This role sits at the centre of that integration. The Online Fulfilment Specialist connects the dots between the ecommerce platform, internal business operations, change management, warehouse management, and last-mile delivery - ensuring that what gets ordered online gets fulfilled seamlessly, regardless of which category it came from. Due to the high volume of applications expected, candidates who have not received feedback within two weeks of applying should consider their application unsuccessful.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the operational bridge between the ecommerce platform and fulfilment execution - food, fashion, beauty, and home
• Support the consolidation of separate fulfilment streams into a single, unified delivery model
• Work across internal teams including ecommerce, warehouse management, logistics, and business operations to align processes and resolve fulfilment gaps
• Identify and resolve conflicts between platform logic, warehouse capability, and delivery execution
• Support change management activities as teams transition from siloed systems to a centralised fulfilment model
• Document current-state and future-state fulfilment processes across all product categories
• Monitor fulfilment performance, flag issues early, and drive continuous improvement
• Liaise with delivery and warehouse partners to ensure operational readiness at each phase of consolidation

Requirements

• Experience in ecommerce operations, online fulfilment, or last-mile delivery in a retail environment
• Understanding of how ecommerce platforms, warehouse management systems, and delivery operations interact
• Comfortable working across multiple internal stakeholders - technology, operations, logistics, and change
• Strong process mapping and documentation skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational gaps and recommend practical solutions
• Experience working in or across multi-category retail (food and general merchandise) is advantageous
• Exposure to platform consolidation or systems integration projects advantageous
