About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce fulfillment provider, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote Fulfillment Operations Specialist to join their virtual operations team. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, focusing on optimizing and streamlining the end-to-end fulfillment process for online orders. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring order flow, managing inventory accuracy, coordinating with shipping partners, and ensuring efficient processing and delivery of customer orders. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of e-commerce logistics and a passion for operational excellence in a remote setting. You will be a key contributor to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the daily flow of e-commerce orders from placement to final delivery.
• Ensure accurate and timely picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders from various fulfillment centers.
• Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through regular reconciliation and by working closely with warehouse teams.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers to manage pick-ups, track shipments, and resolve any delivery issues.
• Analyze fulfillment performance metrics (e.g., order accuracy, on-time shipping rate, cost per order) and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fulfillment processes.
• Communicate effectively with customer service, warehouse teams, and external partners to ensure seamless operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that may arise during the fulfillment process.
• Assist in the onboarding and training of new fulfillment center staff or partners (remotely where possible).
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the customer experience.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in e-commerce fulfillment, warehouse operations, or logistics.
• Strong understanding of the order fulfillment lifecycle, including inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Proficiency with e-commerce platforms and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace for remote operations, ideally within the **Soweto, Gauteng** area or elsewhere in South Africa.
