Job summary

Cashbuild invites applications for a General Assistant (Internal Applications Only) to deliver comprehensive customer service in-store and support merchandising and housekeeping within the designated area.

The role requires basic arithmetic, strong communication in English and local languages, and a commitment to working shifts, weekends and public holidays while maintaining safe, clean aisles and accurate price labelling.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year work-related experience, or Grade 12 without related work experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve customer complaints.
• Merchandise bulk stock area safely according to store layout.
• Ensure area is fully merchandised according to layout and planograms.
• Ensure shelf price labelling is correct within area of responsibility.
• Complete checklists when on duty with canteen and sanitation schedule.
• Maintain area free of obstacles to ensure safe customer movement.
