You will manage client liaison, vendor coordination, budgeting, and on-site delivery, crafting innovative concepts and ensuring flawless execution while upholding safety and resort standards. Evening/weekend work is required, and relocation to Richards Bay is expected if needed.

About the Role

Our client, a stunning beachfront resort in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal , is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Events Manager to curate and execute exceptional events. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about creating memorable experiences, from intimate weddings to large corporate functions. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of event planning, client liaison, vendor coordination, and on-site execution. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of events, including conferences, weddings, banquets, and social functions.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand their needs, provide proposals, and manage event logistics.
• Develop creative event concepts, themes, and layouts that align with client expectations and resort standards.
• Manage event budgets, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., catering, banqueting, AV) and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
• Oversee on-site event setup, management, and breakdown.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and client follow-ups.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of event trends and industry best practices.
• Market the resort's event facilities and services to potential clients.
• Ensure all events comply with safety regulations and resort policies.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably within a resort or hotel setting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event schedules.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal .
