Job summary

Placements24 is sourcing a Resort Activities Manager for a luxurious beachfront resort in Durban. You will design, implement, and manage a diverse range of recreational and leisure activities for guests of all ages, leading a team of activity coordinators and instructors to deliver memorable experiences.

You will work with vendors, manage budgets, ensure safety and guest satisfaction, and continuously innovate based on guest feedback and market trends. A First Aid/CPR certification is required.

• Proven experience in a similar hospitality role.
• Strong event planning, program development and leadership.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and execute daily, weekly, and seasonal activities.

Our client, a luxurious beachfront resort in vibrant Durban , is seeking an innovative and energetic Resort Activities Manager to create and deliver unforgettable guest experiences. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing a diverse range of recreational and leisure activities for guests of all ages, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction and engagement. You will lead a team of activity coordinators and instructors, fostering a fun, safe, and dynamic atmosphere. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational skills, and a creative flair for developing engaging programs that enhance the resort's appeal and reputation within the KwaZulu-Natal tourism sector, ensuring memorable stays for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and execute a comprehensive schedule of daily, weekly, and seasonal resort activities and events.
• Manage and supervise a team of activity coordinators, fitness instructors, and support staff, ensuring high performance and excellent guest service.
• Source and manage external vendors and entertainers for specialized activities and events, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of activity areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-equipped.
• Manage the budget for the activities department, including inventory control, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Continuously assess guest feedback and market trends to innovate and improve the resort's activity offerings.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or leisure industry.
• Strong background in event planning, program development, and team leadership.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Creative thinking and a passion for creating engaging and memorable experiences.
