Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Civil Engineer with extensive Water Resource Management experience to join a fully remote team serving South Africa. This role focuses on sustainable planning, design, and management of water infrastructure, including supply networks, treatment facilities, and stormwater systems.

You will collaborate with a distributed team to address national water challenges using advanced modeling tools such as EPANET, HEC-RAS, and SWMM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in water resources.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in water resource engineering and infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Proficiency in water modeling software such as EPANET, HEC-RAS, and SWMM.
• Strong understanding of water quality, treatment processes, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills suitable for a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for water supply networks, treatment plants, and wastewater systems.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for stormwater management and flood control projects.
• Perform environmental impact assessments related to water resource development and infrastructure.
• Develop water conservation strategies and implement sustainable water management practices.
• Collaborate with government agencies, environmental consultants, and project stakeholders remotely.
• Ensure compliance with national and international water quality standards and environmental regulations.
