Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Water Resource Engineer to spearhead water resource and civil infrastructure projects from a fully remote setup in South Africa. You will drive design, modeling, and delivery of water supply, wastewater, and flood control solutions while mentoring a distributed team.

The role requires a strong hydrology background, Pr. Eng. registration, and 8+ years in the field, with leadership and client-relations capabilities to advance complex projects remotely.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Over 8 years of extensive experience in water resource engineering, encompassing design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and management of water resource and civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop hydrological models and hydraulic analyses for river systems, catchments, and urban drainage.
• Design water supply networks, treatment processes, and wastewater management systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments for water-related projects.
• Prepare detailed design reports, specifications, and tender documents.
• Provide expert technical advice and mentorship to a remote engineering team.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships effectively in a remote setting.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance and project approvals.
• Stay updated with advancements in water resource engineering and sustainable practices.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client engagement.
