Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with Water Resource Management expertise for a fully remote role. You will lead design and analysis, leveraging hydrological and hydraulic models to develop sustainable water solutions for projects across Durban and beyond.

The position requires at least 6 years in water resources engineering, strong GIS and reporting skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with specialization in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in water resource engineering.
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, EPANET).
• Experience with GIS software for spatial analysis of water resources.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable water management principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Design sustainable water resource management systems including dams, canals, and flood control structures.
• Conduct hydrological studies, water balance analyses, and impact assessments for water projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, reports, and environmental management plans.
• Utilize modeling software to simulate water flow, quality, and infrastructure performance.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal teams in a remote setting.
• Provide technical guidance for water infrastructure planning and implementation projects.
